A Note on Koishi's Power/Opt-Out:
--Koishi's mind is a relative blank because she thinks and acts at what ZUN refers to as the 'subconscious' level. This makes her difficult to remember in detail for living characters who operate on conscious thought. She is not impossible to remember, but can be difficult to recall in detail without regular interaction. As the Touhou Project says, it is difficult to love, or to hate her, because it is hard to recall her at all. Unless she has come into a person's field of vision and made herself known, she's easily not noticed at all, and someone could potentially forget her the moment they stopped interacting with her. This doesn't make her invisible, and if she does something towards someone else, they will definitely notice her. But recalling her in detail is harder.

Though she possesses Hata no Kokoro's Mask of Hope, which gives her the emotion of hope, an item that helps her leave an impression on other people, it still takes time for her to really leave an impression on others.

Koishi is known, canonically, to say that even she doesn't always know what she will do next because she operates on raw instinct and the subconscious. It makes her unpredictable, even to herself. Occasionally, I reserve the right to simply roll a random dice if it feels like a situation she might behave unexpectedly. Generally, I'll lean away from outright derailing a perfectly good thread with this, so don't expect it to happen often, and almost never more than once in a thread.

Also, note that even if a shocking reaction results, it will always be something more along the lines of a 'punch in the arm,' a pinch of the cheeks, or running away unexpectedly. Not pulling out a knife. The latter is something that, unpredictable or not, should be planned ahead.

Note: I have the page up in principle, but because of the unique memory issues that relate to Koishi, getting long-lasting CR with her is not necessarily easy. It is safe to assume 'friendly and acquainted with you' if you've had more than one scene with her that didn't go really south, or 'unfriendly and acquainted with you' if it went south. That can be held somewhat universally.

Beyond this, though, it's a curious question if someone will reach that point who is not a canon mate...

Random Response Generator

Occasionally, because even 'she' does not always know what she will do in a given moment (as she operates entirely at the subconscious and instinctual level), it will be appropriate for me to simply ... let fate decide. After all, there is a level of unpredictability to Koishi that should transcend even the ability that I, the player, have to pin her down.

On those occasions, I'll slip over to a random number generator and roll a d10. I probably won't ever do this more than once in a scene. It would get tedious. The responses are also intentionally vague so that I know that I have options in how to play them out (And so that, say, a 'react violently' result could be a punch in the arm, for example, at random.)

I always reserve the right to say 'nah, I don't like it' and ignore a dice result. We're not slaves to the randomness. I just want the option of her being completely unpredictable at times.
